Thank God for Small Things

Thank God for Small Things

Pennies, pennies if not fake
Collected one by one
Will a dollar make.
Do appreciate the small things.

A delicate snowflake so rare
Piled upon a mountain top
Created a beauty for us all to share.
Be thankful for small things.

The small seed of spruce, birch, or pine
With years and years of growth
Produce a forest so fine.
We thank you Lord for small things.

Petals of flowers tiny and bold
Scattered upon the mother earth
Displays nature color to behold.
Thank you for the beauty of small things.

Cotton, pieces of lint even the smallest
Twisted and knitted with care
Will clothe man, yes even the tallest.
We are grateful for small things

Tiny particles of mud and sand
Mixed, worked, and molded by man
Bricks made for our homes do stand
Thank you God for the small things.

An egg like the head of a pin
Grows the salmon of fifty pounds
Head, tail, and fin.
Yes we are thankful for small things.

Flour, the tiny particles of wheat,
Sour dough kneaded, rolled, and baked
Makes the bread for us to eat.
Oh how thankful we are for small things.

The feel of small and gentle touch
In time of need from friend or mother
Doth heal the body and soul and such.
For small expressions of love, thank you God.

Blessings received daily
No matter how small
In the promise from out Father above all.
We thank you God for the small things.

Madeline Minor

Thank you, Madeline for this wonderful thought provoking poem.  Yes, we must be thankful for the small things.  Zechariah 4:10 “For who hath despised the day of small things?” This lady was a member where I preached at the time. She has passed on to her reward. I do not know the date. She was talented in many areas of life.
